Skin Biology wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology.

What we have done

When the site moved to its current platform in 2026, the page templates were built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA: text and background colours meet the contrast minimums, every page can be used with a keyboard alone, the keyboard focus is always visible, a "skip to content" link is the first thing on every page, menus and the search box are labelled, headings follow a logical order, and tables scroll instead of breaking on small screens. Every page was then checked with an automated accessibility scanner, and the main page types were tested by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader.

What we are still working on

The site has more than 150 pages of articles written over twenty years. We are working through them to add descriptions to images and tidy headings and link text. Automated tools catch only part of what matters, so some pages may still have issues we have not found. Embedded YouTube players and the newsletter sign-up form are provided by those companies and follow their accessibility, not ours; every video and the sign-up are also reachable by phone or email below.

Tell us

If any part of this site is hard for you to use, please tell us and we will do our best to fix it or to give you the information another way.
